Données sur la reproduction et la taille de première maturité du homard Homarus gammarus d'Iroise et du golfe de Gascogne ArchiMer
Latrouite, Daniel; Leglise, Michel; Raguenes, Gérard.
This paper deals with the lobsters caught by French fishermen off the "Conquet" (Iroise sea) and off "Ile d'Yeu" (Biscay Bay) on the French atlantic coast. The size at first maturity, defined as the size at which 50 % of female are able to reproduce, is deduced from the analysis of size frequency in landings. It is also shown that more than 50 % of the mature female are spawing each year ; the periods of hatching in the natural environment are also established.

Etude de la circulation résiduelle lagrangienne en mer d'Iroise ArchiMer
Muller, Heloise.
The aim of this work is to assess the lagrangian residual circulation in the Iroise sea and to evaluate the relative contribution of the different physical processes at play. We calculate water displacements with a diagnostic lagrangian tool that computes the full trajectories of Active particles advected in a given velocity field. The lagrangian residual circulation is inferred from trajectories integrated over an appropriate period. This analysis is applied both to ocean model ouputs and genuine, gridded current measurements. These two sources of data are indeed complementary to study the lagrangian residual circulation according to the impact of the physical processes at play. We used sea surface currents measured by HF radars and surface currents...

Mortalité du tourteau Cancer pagurus provoquée par le dinoflagelle parasite : Hematodinium sp. ArchiMer
Latrouite, Daniel; Morizur, Yvon; Noel, Philippe; Chagot, Dominique; Wilhelm, G.
Unusural crab mortality in winter led us to identify a Hematodinium like parasitic dinoflagellate in the blood of edible crabs Cancer pagurus. Crabs from several fishing areas (the English Channel, the Iroise sea, the bay of Biscay, off Scotland) and from one area of the Channel shore were examined. The crab parasit was found everywhere we investigated and throughout the year. The prevalence which was found independant of the intermolt stage, sex and size of crabs was higher inshore than offshore. The pathogenicity is assumed to differ according to season.

Spectral analysis of mean flow and turbulence forced by waves in a horizontally homogeneous zone of the Iroise sea A comparison with current times series measured by high-frequency radar ArchiMer
Simon, Guillaume; Dumas, Franck; Duhaut, Thomas.
The 1D version of the Model for Applications at Regional Scale is used to parameterize the effects of sea surface waves in 2D in a horizontally homogeneous offshore zone of the Iroise sea. Here we present the first simulation of the Iroise sea including sea surface waves forcing, and more generally, the first study of a boundary layer including the Hasselmann force with a tidal wave. We use a single equation turbulence closure based on a non-local diagnosis for energetic and dissipation length scales. The turbulent energy flux at the surface due to whitecaps and the Hasselmann force induced by Stokes drift are assessed using the whole sea surface waves spectrum given by the Wave Watch Third generation model. The ability of the parameterization to reproduce...
